Turquose Indian Engraved Earrings

These earrings derive from Bikaner in the Indian state of Rajasthan in the heart of the Thar desert.

These earrings are comprised of an engraved and imprinted silver foil that is filled with Lac (this is the Indian word for a specialist wax). The earring is then painted in enamel. Traditionally only 9 colours are used - white, golden, pink, blue parrot green, red, bottle green, turquoise, orange and black.

Rhinestones are pressed into the silver foil and beads are attached to complete the jewellery .

Each piece requires 9 craftsman to produce the final result, in turn providing you with completely unique and individual jewellery from the heart of India!
